Christmas Card

(I am going to officially make my blog private by January 1, just wanting to make I get most everyone)

So I was going to send out Christmas cards again this year. Then after writing the list of who I was going to send it to and calculating how much that will cost. I decided to save my money and do it the lazy way by doing a post. So here is what it was going to say (most of it you already know if you have been reading our blog)...

TOP 5 of 2009
1. Buying a house - We were finally able to buy a house after several years of saving our money. We love it and love the space. Our neighbors are very friendly and like being in charge of our own stuff.
2. Weston - We love this kid. He is doing more and more stuff. He is really into climbing lately and will flip over laundry baskets and climb on them as well as anything else he can find. He is talking more. He says a lot of words like "hi", "mama", "dada", "night-night", "bye", "dog", etc. He does say more but we dont know if he is really saying that or if that is what we want to believe he is saying. He is so funny and we are loving watching him grow up.
3. Europe Trip - Going to England and Paris in May was one of the highlights of the year. I have wanted to go to Europe for a long time and glad that dream came true. We will have to go back to some other countries and cities because we didn't have enough time to see everything we wanted. It was also great to see my parents since it had been about 9 months.
4. Marathon - I have completed my very first marathon. It has been goal for a long time and I now can say that I did it. I never could have imagined that I would run 26.2 miles but I did. I ran through 3 states (Utah, Arizona and Nevada).
5. Chicken Dance on the Big Screen - We attended our very first REAL soccer game in which Joe got onto the Jumbo screen. He also won the best chicken dancer (to the chicken song). This guy wins everything, I just hope his luck never runs out.

Have a great Christmas this year!!
Love: Joe, Megan and Weston

October Festivities

October was a lot of fun. We made sure to do some of the fun things to celebrate Halloween. We went to Cornbellys in the middle of the month. It has been a tradition for us for the last 4 years.

Me and weston going down the slide.

Us and some friends jumping on the "giant pillow". It was a little difficult to take the picture since we were bouncing so much.

Weston and Millie racing on the peddle carts.

Halloween night. Joe is where's waldo and I am his girlfriend Where's Wanda and then Weston is a dragon. This was his first year trick or treating. He was so funny. He would just get a piece of candy and hold on to for hours.

Where's waldo?

Our little dragon trick or treating with some of our friends. He was so patient to wait his turn to get the candy. Sadly he didn't get much candy since he doesn't have teeth really yet to eat the candy. He does have teeth coming though.

Our little adventures

We have been busy getting the house together and so this month we decided to do a few more things because I was going crazy stuck in the house. Here are a few pictures of the things we have done:
Joe and I went up to Sundance for dinner and to just hang out. It was a much needed date night. It was so beautiful up there.

Joe got the special- wild boar. This is what was left of his meal:

We also went down to St. George with some friends. We had a lot of fun. Here is Weston showing off his new car seat and his new stuffed animal dog. He loves dogs and when I saw this at the gas station we couldn't resist. He actually walked up to where the stuff animals were and picked out the dog. Weston actually did really good on the long drive.

Us playing shuffle board at the hotel.

We went hiking (if you can call it that). It is a little hard to go hiking with no hiking backpacks and the oldest kids being 3. Heres the kids:

Weston and I.

Weston getting a ride on daddy's shoulders.

We also went up the American Fork canyon to go hiking and have some dinner. We got to try out our propane stove that we bought about a year ago. I guess we need to go camping.

It was pretty cold for October, but Weston still had fun exploring.

Weston and daddy.

Have to get a family pic.

Weston Turns 1

Over the weekend we had Westons birthday party. It was a lot of fun. He enjoyed having all the attention on him and to have a lot of his friends there. Thanks for all who came out for the celebration. You are the best. Here are some pictures.

Weston excited about his presents

His very own car cake. (I made two because i didn't think weston would want to share his cake with anyone else)

The final outcome. (He looks like a blue smerph)

Even though he looks happy, he is really screaming in this picture. He is mad he had to get cleaned up.

An Update

Well we have been super busy lately but I think that is what I say all the time. We came back from California the beginning of August and then two weeks later I had girls camp in which I was the camp director and so in charge of the whole thing. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun. While I was at Girls Camp Joe went back to school (teaching not being a student). A week later we moved into our house. We bought a home about 15-20 south from where we were originally at. It has a lot more space and we are loving it, but have only been here for about a week.
Weston is loving the space and is now walking everywhere. He still falls all the time but is loving his freedom to go wherever he pleases. We are preparing for his first birthday soon. Here are some fun pictures of Weston because he is just so funny.

This is Weston under his crib. He saw me getting under the crib cleaning stuff out of it and decided he wanted to do it to. Also if you notice he is holding onto his stuff animal monkey. He loves this little guy and takes it wherever he goes.

Joe made a mini pool table a while back for one of the projects for his students. We pulled it out and Weston loves it. He stands on top of the table and he loves to pull the balls in the holes. I think he could do it for hours.

I will post pictures of our new house in a bit.

Fun in the sun

Our summer is coming to an end quickly so we decided to take one more trip. This time we went and visited Megan's family in California. Weston had a lot of fun playing with all his cousins. We went to the beach a few times and played a lot in the sun. Weston also got his first taste of sand.

Below is a video of weston eating his first bites of sand.

Lake Powell

Well we went to lake powell a week or two ago. It was a lot of fun. Weston enjoyed the boat ride and liked being in the water. We went tubing, wake boarding, skiing and other things.

Weston sporting the life jacket

Joe on the air chair

Me on the wake board (look at me tear it up)

Weston and daddy swimming. He loved his little tube.

He loved looking over the boat and taking in the breeze as it was going. He was so funny.

Weston's First Swim

We took Weston for his first swim the other day. I have been wanting to take him for a while but just have never gotten around to it. He didn't really cry but wasn't super excited about it. Just kind-of was there. He hated it when we got his whole head wet or slightly dunked him. We didn't have a life jacket on the whole time. Joe wanted him to have one on so it would be easier for us. We went to the Dimble Dell pool and they have like slides and toys in the water. It was really fun.

On his back, learning how to float.

Hanging out with daddy.

Part I Paris

So we decided to spend some of our hard earned money and go to England to see my parents. Well since we were going so far, we stopped in Paris first. We left Weston with Joe's family and were gone for 8 days (two of those days were just travel). I have learned several things from this trip: I hate long flights (in a 24 hr period - I slept 2 hours); try not to eat anything off the street (they dont cook their food and it is left on the counter all day long); and ask before buying something we ended up spending 20 euros on 3 pastries! But in all we had a lot of fun. Here is some pictures from Paris.

Us in front of the Eifel Tower. It was cool to actually be there.

We went to the Louvre and saw some cool stuff. Joe trying to do the Egyptian walk.

We took a river cruise done the Siene which was awesome but I was freezing!!

Us eating French food on the street. The restaurants were so fun because they are right on the street.

The Arch de Triumph. Pretty cool.
